Where would your go fifty-five years ago to report abuse? Nowhere. Most of the abusers in this story are all direct family members of, Asa Griggs Candler, who founded the Coca-Cola Company in 1886. Grace and her immediate family, moved from Atlanta, Georgia at a very young age, leaving all relatives behind. From the research I have done, there is no evidence that Asa Candler was at fault for any of these abuses which have occurred.

This book grabbed my attention! I wanted to keep on reading. I found myself sad at times, sometimes angry and ultimately hopeful that people can move on after such difficult experiences. I loved the bits of humor throughout as well. Sometimes life’s best medicine is laughter. Thanks for sharing and bringing awareness.

Cola Girl is an honest and unflinching look at how life and the people you love can knock you down, but with faith, hope, smiles, and a deep belly laugh, there is always a way to find your feet again. Grace courageously puts her flaws and misfortunes out for observation, and allows us to join her in casting out the demons of her past. In the end, this is a story of hope and determination which proves there is a light at the end of even the darkest tunnel.

A challenging book to read due to such, unfortunately, pertinent subject material. How brave of you to come out and share your painful experiences to the public. Anyone who reads this, however, can truly see the positive outcome of being strong, honest, and willing to put it all out there for the truth to be seen. Your story and the successful outcome speaks to your courage and bravery and can surely be an inspiration for all the women today who are treated as inferior. Thanks for all you have done for such women!

Im thankful Grace put her story out there. So that others can see that you can overcome the difficulties children face. Put an end to the cycle, and live a happy, healthy life. From the moment I started reading, I was unable to put it down. Such a good read. Sad, but thought provoking at the same time.

I read this book in one sitting… I could not put the book down, wanting Grace to ultimately triumph over the inhumanity and cruelty she experienced. She did. Through it all, her heart won out.
Her journey is far too prevalent in cultures all around the world. This book shines a light on our own cultures distain for women and the feminine. It is painful for me to say, that what she experienced is on one level, okay, simply because it happens. In a healthy culture, what she experienced would not happen. It is time for a change. Let justice prevail and healing take place for those injured. Let us all contribute to break this cycle of abuse…So be it…
